Grafts, implants and slow regeneration are now her life, and she is assigned to the Guardian emergency response dispatch. Having no base, they travel from world to world and do whatever needs to be done from rescues, small incursions, to escorting treaty brides.
Lukar has worked alone for quite some time, but the scientists at the Guardian Project assured him that he and Lee were a good match. He had no idea how right they were.

Like most of Grace's books this one was a ton of fun with good world building, interesting action, and charming romance.
I had trouble visualizing Lee (the heroine) and that made it a tad less enjoyable for me but it was still a good time!
I really like her world, but again, too much for too little.
Laser, another great story of the Terran Times. I loved Lee and Lukar's story, they are going to make some interesting babys. Hope to see more of Dr Icky.
The endings of the books of late have been weak with a lot of questions unanswered.
I usually love Viola Grace's books, but lately I have been left unsatisfied and questioning the end of the book. They seem unfinished and hastily ended.
Smart and sassy, Lee had some big problems and interesting situations leading up to the love of her life. Fun reading.
She was blown up at the recruiting center. Her father found her application clutched in her severed hand. She was accepted and got a shiny sentient exoskeleton. Her suit actually wrote a couple article's for the Terran Times.
Viola Grace's world keeps growing and Laser is being sent off planet to save her life. I really liked this book but will caution you that the heroine does suffer very traumatic injury, so be prepared. Luckily Viola doesn't get to descriptive but it is still a little shocking to know Lee is hurt so bad .Her Father gave them permission to do what ever they needed to save her life. This was what she wanted if not how she wanted to get there. Laser brought the emotions forth and had me hooked. We take one more step into a very wonderful out of this world story of Terran's taking their steps to go worlds beyond our own!
I always loved the Terran Times books and now that there is a second wave they just keep getting better. Lee is gravely injured by Alliance protesters on Earth and her father signs her up as a Volunteer to save her life. Thus she becomes Laser after Kilon or Dr Icky, as everyone likes to call him gets done with all her implants and grafting. Kilon sets her up to be Lukar or Sting's as he is known in the Nyal Imperium, partner and who also happens to be Kilon's brother. The chemistry between the two are off the chart. There is strong character development and I loved Lee's attitude about everything that had happened to her. She is independent and has a great positive attitude as Lukar comes to know. Now I can't wait for the next one.
